Kids 4 Kids Anti-Smoking Drawing Contest
According to statistics…
-
Four out of five adults who smoke say they tried
their first cigarette before they turned 18.
-
Tobacco has taken a high toll on children with
350,265 kids becoming regular smokers in 2008, and
out of which 116,755 will die prematurely from their
addiction.
The Russian American Dental
Association (RADA) will hold a children’s anti-smoking
campaign to enforce the importance of educating our
children about the harmful effects of smoking. Children
can get involved by participating in the Anti-Smoking
Drawing Contest.
Using art as a form of expression, children can
spread the message to their peers and influence other
kids to stay away from smoking. The drawings are hoped
to reach many eyes and get everyone thinking about this
issue.
This contest is part of the ongoing
campaign Kids for Kids Against Smoking. Youngsters from
the ages of 8-15 are asked to submit a drawing with an
anti-smoking message.
All art work must be submitted in an 8½ by 11
inch format using any art medium such as water colors,
pencils, pastels etc. The best drawings will be
published in the upcoming “Kids Say No” book.
Contest winners
will receive prizes during an awards ceremony on Kick
Butts Day (Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids), held on
March 25, 2009. Last day for submissions is February 25,
2009. Please send all drawings to 121 East 60 Street
Suite 5D New York, NY 10022.
